Separate three locations
The client’s country, the device’s current location and the account’s selected data region are different facts. Do not infer one from another. pCloud documents a same-server-region requirement for folder invitations. That matters when the intended workflow requires ongoing shared-folder collaboration, even if the two people sit in the same office or already exchange ordinary links successfully.
Ask whether collaboration is necessary
If the recipient only needs a final package, a suitable delivery route may satisfy the task without a shared working folder. If the person must edit alongside you, the collaboration constraint is material. Do not change regions, open duplicate accounts or migrate valuable files simply to make an unexplained invitation problem disappear. First identify the exact required action.
Keep the diagnostic scope narrow
Record the observed error and the route being used. Check current official guidance for that mechanism and avoid applying instructions for a different feature. An account-region mismatch does not prove the files are lost or that all sharing is unavailable. Preserve the existing work while investigating a supported approach that meets the client’s actual requirement.
A fictional alternative
Two collaborators have accounts in different regions. The immediate task is only for one to retrieve approved final artwork, so they evaluate a bounded delivery link with a harmless sample. If later work genuinely requires collaborative editing, they plan that separately. This is not a recommendation to bypass regional controls; it is a way to avoid imposing a collaboration requirement on a simple delivery task.
Put the decision into practice
Write the required collaboration behavior and the observed region constraint in the decision record. If a simpler delivery route meets the immediate need, document that boundary. Do not present the alternative as equivalent full collaboration or assume the success of one sharing mechanism proves all other mechanisms will work.
