Best for freelancers sending large files: pCloud

On pCloud's US pricing page on 3 October 2026, Premium Plus 2 TB was $9.99 a month billed monthly, $99.99 a year billed yearly or $499 one-time. The one-time plan is Lifetime, which pCloud defines as the account owner's lifetime or 99 years, whichever is shorter. It carries 4 TB of link traffic a month, the cap on what other people download or stream through your links.

pCloud's help lists link passwords and expiry dates for paid plans, and pCloud says every Premium plan includes unlimited branded links; it names no plan for file requests, which need no account to upload. pCloud Transfer, a separate free service, sends up to 5 GB with no pCloud account. pCloud's terms do not say whether a personal plan may carry client work.

Personal plans have a 14-day money-back window, not a trial: it needs a written request within 14 calendar days of paying, and pCloud can decline a refund on a discounted purchase. Business has a 30-day trial. See the pCloud Business review.

Best when clients live in Dropbox or Microsoft 365

Dropbox Plus is 2 TB at $11.99 a month billed monthly (1 October 2026) or $9.99 a month billed yearly (5 October 2026). File requests are on every plan, and Dropbox Transfer sends up to 50 GB, but link passwords and expiry dates start at Standard. Pick Dropbox Plus when clients already live in Dropbox.

Microsoft 365 Personal was $99.99 a year on 6 October 2026, with a link password and expiry date for subscribers and 250 GB a file. Microsoft lists Request files as not available in OneDrive for home; the client file sharing portal guide covers collecting files.

Google Workspace and Box for a one-person business

Google Workspace Business Starter is $7 a user a month on a one-year commitment (5 October 2026), with 30 GB of pooled storage a user. Drive documents no link password, and expiry dates are limited to work or school accounts. Box Personal Pro is 100 GB with a 5 GB file limit; its price is on Box's page, and it cannot use Box's current File Request.

Best send-only service: WeTransfer

WeTransfer Starter was $10 a month or $84 a year on its US price list (5 October 2026): 300 GB per 30 days, with links that last up to 3 days. Ultimate, $25 a month or $228 a year, adds passwords, custom expiry and branding. Everyone who sends needs a WeTransfer account.

Both paid cards say individual use only and the Free plan is for non-commercial use, so a studio should look at the Teams plan, priced on WeTransfer's page. Pick WeTransfer when you only send and have nothing to store; pCloud vs WeTransfer compares the two.

How these file sharing picks were chosen

Each pick is read from the vendor's own pricing and help pages; nothing here comes from using the services. pCloud's entry plan, Premium 500 GB, was $4.99 a month billed monthly on 3 October 2026. Premium Plus 2 TB sits in the table because Dropbox Plus is also 2 TB, so the monthly figures compare 2 TB with 2 TB: $9.99 against $11.99, both billed monthly.
