Identify what happens after sending
Will you keep collecting materials and maintaining a current set, or does the recipient only need one finished package? Persistent storage and transfer-oriented tools organize that responsibility differently. Neither label is inherently more professional. The useful choice depends on how long the files remain part of your work and who is expected to maintain access after delivery.
Do not confuse availability with ownership
A live link can remain convenient while the sender controls the underlying files. That does not necessarily give the recipient an independent copy or a right to indefinite access. Explain whether the client should download and retain the package. Keep business ownership and permitted reuse in the agreed project records rather than assuming the sharing interface establishes them.
Evaluate the complete exit
For persistent storage, plan how a final release is separated from ongoing work and how obsolete access is reviewed. For a transfer workflow, check availability, recipient instructions and what happens if the client misses the window. Do not rely on an old published expiry figure: plans and terms change. Verify current limits before making a time-sensitive commitment.
A fictional split workflow
A consultant maintains reusable working materials privately but sends each client a bounded final export. Persistent storage can support the internal organization while the delivery route serves the recipient. There is no requirement to put the client inside the entire workspace. Choose the simplest combination that meets the task, and avoid buying a second product merely because its category sounds more specialized.
Put the decision into practice
Ask who will maintain the authoritative release after delivery and how the client will obtain a copy later if needed. If nobody owns that responsibility, neither a persistent folder nor a temporary transfer solves the underlying problem. Clarify the operating arrangement before adding another service to the project.
